Sevilla’s founding father was the mighty Hercules, and situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir, it has become one of Europe’s largest historical centres with a magnificent architectural heritage. Delightful areas of narrow cobbled streets, balconies with hanging baskets filled with brilliant flowers, and brightly decorated facades, entice the visitor to explore, and exuberant festivals lasting for weeks make the city one Europe’s most colourful destinations.

Car Rental - Most of the major car rental companies operate in Sevilla, but for the budget conscious, some of the smaller local companies offer a cheaper alternative. Bus – The modern, highly efficient coach station on the Plaza de Armas also has shopping facilities. Taxis – In comparison with other countries, taxis are relatively cheap in Spain, but as not all of them have metres, it is wise to negotiate the cost of a ride in advance.

Seville Airport is situated about 10 kilometres outside the city, on the NIV motorway to Cordoba and Madrid, and services both national and international flights.
