| Home of haggis, bagpipes and kilts, it is no wonder the Scots are a touchy lot with so much to defend. Then again, there is wonderful St Andrews and the excellent game of golf, the enchanting islands of the Inner Hebrides, fishing for salmon in the crystal waters of the River Spey, and, of-course the nectar of smoky, single-malt whisky, good enough reason for the joyous Highland Fling. Not all of Scotland is fey and fairylike though, there are grand old cities with thoroughly modern amenities, commerce, and industries, plus an excellent tourist infrastructure, making the country a top destination in world travel.
