A combination of easy mingling ethnic groups, makes this in many ways Texas's most beautiful and atmospheric city. Northwest of San Antonio is the Hill Country, an irregularity in the generally flat Texas, rich with pretty landscapes and early American history. Visitors come here to kick back and party, but they also come to seek Texas's history, some would say its soul. They come to sit on the banks of a glittering river and sip cactus margaritas. Another attraction is the Sea World and the Fiesta, Texas Theme park.

San Antonio can be explored on foot, although some of its attractions require transportation. There are various car rental company’s available. VIA Metropolitan has a network of regular bus routes throughout the downtown area to tourist attractions VIA streetcars offer open-air downtown transport aboard reproductions of San Antonio's historic rail streetcars.

A public transportation system provides a daily bus service between the airport and downtown. Otherwise a shared-van shuttle service is available.
