Although the perfect tropical beach destination, Puerto Vallarta has a never-ending variety of attractions from discos to art exhibitions to quaint seaside villages, and welcomes everyone from backpackers to the money’s no option crowd.   Bus, taxi and rental cars are available for exploration of the different zones and areas of the surrounding countryside. Water taxis provide access to many seaside villages that can only reached by water.   Puerto Vallarta International Airport is located in the northern section of the city, just past Marina Vallarta and is connected to North America's major airports by twelve major airlines. Transportation to and from the airport is mostly by taxi or minivans with costs dependant on number of zones travelled.
