Milwaukee is situated on the shores of Lake Michigan; it is an international seaport with a small town atmosphere. Milwaukee is known as a city of festivals, the biggest being Summer fest and the Great Circus Parade. It is home to breweries large and small, as well as Harley Davidson's international headquarters. But there's more to the city than industry. Visitors also enjoy great views of Lake Michigan, cultural opportunities, and some of the friendliest people in the Midwest.

Most tourist attractions are near the Milwaukee River and can be reached on foot. Milwaukee County Transit System offers a service in the town and into the suburbs. Other tourist attractions can be reached via the city's Trolley system. Taxis can be ordered by phone or one can rent a car.

General Mitchell International Airport is 10 miles south of downtown, a 15-minute drive. One-way transportation to the downtown is via Airport Connection shuttle service, reservations recommended. Taxis between the airport and downtown take about 20 minutes. Car rental services are also available.
