Few people ride bicycles in Madrid, as one can be overcome by the traffic pollution. It's better to walk. Instead of a regular taxi, you can take an AeroCITY shuttle service, which transports you in an air-conditioned minivan to your doorstep. A bus network, services the city and suburbs, it is resourceful as they travel along special lanes. There is also a subway system available.

Madrid's international airport, Barajas is located 14.5km (9 miles) east of the city. Air-conditioned yellow airport buses leave every 15 minutes to the city centre. Taxis, or limousines, are available transport but make sure you negotiate the price in advance. The most convenient way to reach Madrid is via a new subway link. Fitted with luggage racks, trains make the trip in only 12 minutes.
