| Iowa is the very essence of small town America and can be very serene at times and luxuriant. Even the cities seem at times to be over grown villages. With the Missouri River to the west and the Mississippi to the east, it is the only state bordered by two navigable rivers. Known as the "Foodbasket of America" this position it holds onto with great enthusiasm. There are not many tourist attractions in Iowa; its most visited destination is the Germanic commune of the Amana Colonies. Other interesting venues are the original locations of variously made famous movies.
