Frankfurt is the country's financial capital; it is a heavily industrial city. Frankfurt's international trade fairs bring some 1.5 million visitors to the city. Fairs include the Motor Show, and the Cookery Fair. But the best known is the International Book Fair. Frankfurt has world-class ballet, opera, theatre, art exhibitions, and plenty of Cathedrals and museums all to enthral the tourist. The most interesting streets of Frankfurt are those within its medieval and commercial core. Overall, few other cities in Germany offer as unusual an insight into the existence of Germany's medieval past.
