| With scenery so beautiful God must have been showing off when he created it Finland has picturesque lakes with beautiful islands, an unspoiled wilderness, and green forests where bears and wolves roam. In this ancient land of a midnight sun, Man has added his touches with the onion shaped domes of the Orthodox churches and majestic old castles of yesteryear scattered around the country. In winter the sun sleeps in for the day, and people suffer the melancholy known as ‘sisu’, but in summer the sun stays out to play, refusing to go to bed at all, and then the Finns go canoeing, river rafting or dance at midnight under it’s rays.
