Road and rail links to Edmonton are excellent, and Canada's last remaining transcontinental passenger train can be found in this city. The new VIA Rail station is at 12360-121st St, about 3km northwest of the city centre, and the Greyhound bus terminal is located at 10324-103rd St. to the south. Edmonton Transit combines bus and light rail services and has interchangeable tickets. Although Edmonton is easily negotiable by foot, car rental agencies are available.

The international airport 29 km out of Edmonton hosts numerous American and European airlines, as well as national flights. Most flights from the Northwest Territories and the Yukon arrive at Edmonton airport in preference to Calgary’s, and there are shuttle flights between the two cities. Taxis and shuttle buses run between the airport and Edmonton’s downtown, and the airport’s ‘West End’ shuttle delivers passengers directly to the West Edmonton Mall, while the ‘Sky Shuttle’ runs to city centre hotels.
