Durban is where South Africans go for their holidays. It is hot, tropical and buzzing with life. It is where every hue and shade of the Rainbow Nation’ can be seen, It is sophisticated and cosmopolitan. Here Zulu warriors perform their ancient tribal dances; the air is redolent with Indian curries and the scent of tanning lotions oiling the skins of surfers, sunbathers and swimmers; and wealthy patrons of the exclusive golf clubs play through to the 19th hole.

Durban Station is located on NMR Avenue from where Mynah buses carry passengers to the city centre. Three-wheeled vehicles known as Tuk-tuks, and jeeps, aka mozziecabs, provide transport throughout central Durban and the beaches. Overcrowded and under maintained mini-buses also provide rather dodgy hop-on hop-off taxi service. Greyhound and Translux Buses carry passengers to other South African destinations. Vehicle rental services are available.
