For those who love the outdoors and adventure Calgary is the ultimate destination. In the great Canadian Rockies, visitors can enjoy trail riding, heli-hiking, fishing, touring or white water rafting, in this perfect mountain playground. Clean and safe, Calgary is children-friendly and has gone out of its way to provide entertainment for the young set, and for the young at heart there is the tremendous Calgary Stampede, that celebrates the cowboy, and attracts over a million visitors in July.

Calgary has a clean, efficient, and inexpensive, public transport system, consisting of buses and the C-Train, which is a cross between a bus and a train and runs every 15 to 30min during the day. Most of Calgary attractions can be reached on foot, except in winter when temperatures fall to uncomfortable levels, the city’s Plus 15 Walking System, a network of enclosed walkways 4.5m above ground, enables you to walk through downtown without setting foot outside. Car rental is available.

Calgary International Airport, within the city limits about 10km northeast of downtown, offers a number of services from the Aviation Interfaith Chapel for those grateful for a safe flight, to shops, bus shuttles, and car and limousine hire.
